Japan’s First Mind Reading Robot !
In the never ending question of “what will Japan come up with next ?” I have yet again found another answer, and in no less surprising fashion than any of my other random Japan discoveries.
This time, it’s the first ever Mind Reading Robot, otherwise known as the BMI, short for Brain Machine Interface. The new technology is courtesy of the Honda Research Institute, and is the first time a human mind and a robot have successfully communicated. While Honda cannot predict a time to market the new invention, the company hopes to utilize the technology in a number of new product lines, and estimates the new invention could lead to a new 10-billion dollar USD industry in the future.
For those of you who are curious, the Robot’s name is Asimo !
