Ryo Ishikawa Gets Invite to PGA

Japan’s 17-year-old golf prodigy and two-time winner on the Japan PGA tour has officially received an invite to play in the 91st PGA Championship - Ryo Ishikawa will become the youngest player ever in the PGA. The teeny-golfer has impressed the golf elite in his first few United States showings, though he missed the cut at Masters in April. Previous to Ishikawa, Gene Sarazen was youngest to play in a PGA Championship at 19-years-old in 1921. The 91st PGA Championship runs from August 13-16 at Hazeltine National Golf Club in Chaska, Minnesota.
Sporting a pop-idol-like hairstyle, a charming smile, and a swing smooth as notorious Tiger Woods, the Japanese refer to Ishikawa as the “Hanikami Ōji,” literally, “Bashful Prince.”
