Superfly was formed in 2004 by the vocalist Ochi Shiho and the guitarist Koichi Tabo. After a battle between recording labels, the band made their major label debut in April 2007, with the single ‘Hello Hello’ under the label Warner Music Japan.
Before the release of the third single, Koichi Tabo left the duo, but Ochi Shiho continued to release music under Superfly’s name, as a soloist. Her first solo effort was the tour “Superfly 2007 Hellow, We Love You”. In November of 2007, she teamed up with Australian band JET and released the single ‘i spy i spy’.
Her single, “Ai wo Komete Hanataba wo” was used as the theme song to the dorama Edison no Haha - this single was Superfly’s first big hit, which breaking into the top twenty on the Oricon chart. Her 2009 summer hit, “My Best of My life” is the theme song of dorama “Boss.”
