It’s now official, according to Sony CEO Sir Howard String, “the 3D train is on track and we at Sony are ready to drive it home” - and it doesn’t stop there. Sony has big plans for its 3rd dimension TV invention, all of which will be revealed to attendees at the leccy show in Berlin. Furthermore, not only is Sony ready to drive the train home, it’s ready to drive it into your living room by 2010 according to the Financial Times. All that’s left to do now is to wait and find out whether Sony’s extra dimension pops out to consumers or falls flat back on its predecessor’s 2D ass !

    2. Both Sony and Panasonic are bringing out 3d FHD tv’s next year, good for us consumers, hopefully there will be a price war early on :-D

This will be good for the consumer, since it will mean a large reduction in the older technology (non-3D TV’s, computers, etc.), since the supply and production have been geared up for it, and they will have to get rid of the older technology first (as they had to with computers going from 386 to 486 to pentium, etc.), prices have gone down drastically every time they introduced a major change. I have not even purchased a flat screen tv yet, and will be buying one when they drop 30-60% from the present pricing for the latest technology now. (LED TV’s from Samsung)
